How to Learn Skills, Find Work, and Get a Job in Mumbai
For a lot of people across Maharashtra, the path to a stable life comes down to three simple things: learn a skill, find work, and land a job that actually pays the bills. The hard part is usually access — not motivation.
Shuddhi Foundation (also known as Shuddhi NGO) was built to close that gap. It runs free, structured vocational training designed to take people from "willing to work" to "ready to be hired."
Free Job Training in Mumbai and Pune
Good training doesn't stop at theory — it has to translate into something an employer will actually pay for. That's the gap Shuddhi tries to close.
Hands-on classrooms. In Mumbai, Shuddhi runs practical bootcamps covering the basics that most entry-level jobs expect: computer literacy, common office software, retail and customer coordination, and workplace communication.
A growing network across regions. The same model now reaches Pune as well, expanding access to training in areas closer to where people actually live and work.
A focus on the people who get overlooked. Shuddhi's programs are aimed squarely at youth who have the drive to work but haven't had a fair shot at formal training or corporate entry points — the people who often get filtered out before they even get an interview.
Helping Women Learn Skills and Get Hired
Real economic equality shows up when women can earn independently, on their own terms. That's the goal behind Shuddhi's women-focused programs.
Donation flow, simplified: community enrollment → hands-on skill training → paths to independent income.
Project Shakti. These neighborhood-level workshops teach tailoring, textile design, and the basics of running a small business — skills women can turn into income without needing to leave their communities.
Training that fits real life. Shuddhi's centers in Pune and Mumbai run on flexible schedules, so women balancing household responsibilities can still show up, learn, and work toward financial independence without having to choose one over the other.
Healthy People, Healthy Neighborhoods
None of this works if people are too sick to show up, or if the neighborhoods they live in are falling apart environmentally. So alongside job training, Shuddhi runs two other programs that support the same goal.
Community health camps. Shuddhi organizes free diagnostic checkups, basic medicine distribution, and health education sessions in under-resourced urban communities across Maharashtra — the kind of preventive care that keeps people healthy enough to keep working.
Tree plantation drives. To push back against the concrete sprawl across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune, Shuddhi runs regular plantation events — and, just as importantly, follows up afterward. Volunteers help maintain the saplings long-term, so the trees actually survive rather than becoming a one-day photo op.
